is easily accessible from Hoedspruit. If you choose to drive from the Johannesburg/Sandton areas, the trip will take you about 5 1/2 hours with a short stop. Or you could fly in to Eastgate Airport – a short distance from Hoedspruit town.
Larger, privately owned farms make up the Umbabat. One owner is wanting to sell. The conditions have changed so often that I am personally at a loss. What I will do however, is put any prospective buyer directly in touch with the seller. At a later date, when the buyer understands the intricacies, I will then take great delight in showing you the farm. It is one of my favourite places. Please use the contact form initially.
Umbabat lies about an hour’s drive from Hoedspruit, traveling due East towards the Kruger Park through the Timbavati Main Entrance Gate. Umbabat forms part of the Association of Private Nature Reserves which includes, Timbavati, Klaserie, and the various sections of Balule with its larger farms, and including Olifants North and South, Olifants West, Parsons and Grietjie.
Game moves freely from Kruger Park, westward and through these areas. I actually predict that the main Phalabora/Hoedspruit R40 will become the eventual Western Boundary of the Kruger Park. Fences are dropping so fast as more and more like-minded owners see the benefit of unrestricted game movement.
Hoedspruit’s Umbabat Private Nature Reserve includes the shareblocks of Ntsiri, Ndlopfu and Ingwelala – all offering some great game viewing experiences over large traversing areas.
