How does one describe the 8500 ha, privately owned Karongwe Private Reserve Big 5 Hoedspruit? Founded in 2001, the owners in this pristine area are aiming to preserve the diverse fauna and flora. They are very proud and protective over the Reserve but do welcome any new owner who is willing to conform to the standards and norms that such an exclusive area offers.
Kruger2Canyon Properties has a magnificent, cleverly architectured, real bushveld style living home.
There are currently 40 mammal species on Karongwe and these include the Big 5 – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The other species found include zebra, wildebeest, bushbuck, nyala, waterbuck, giraffe, warthog, impala and all the smaller noctural game as well. Birdlife is amazing.
About 35 kms to Hoedspruit on one of the main routes to Tzaneen.
No – it does not adjoin the Kruger National Park. Nor is Karongwe Private Nature Reserve a part of the Association of Private Nature Reserves. The Reserve does however enjoy exactly the same benefits – the most important one being lower human and vehicle impact and therefore more exclusivity.
The very few select stands are each 1ha (10 000 sq.m.) and set out in such a way that you have complete privacy from your neighbours.
Being only a 4 1/2 hour drive from Johannesburg, Sandton and O R Tambo airport, Karongwe Private Nature Reserve is fast becoming a destination that is gaining in reputation as the hidden gem of the lowveld.
Whether you are wanting a weekend getaway, a holiday home, or wish to live permanently – Karongwe offers all this and more.
Before saying “No, it doesn’t adjoin Kruger”, why not let Kruger2Canyon Properties take you out and show you the large traverse area and this truly great bushveld home?
