Hoedspruit Facilities

Hoedspruit is growing so fast. I am convinced that this trend will continue. Covid-19 has shown more and more people how it is possible to work remotely and enjoy a much better and healthier lifestyle. I also firmly believe that the property values in Hoedspruit and the surrounding areas are going to hold while the rest of the country sees the predicted 20 – 30% decline in value.

Medical Professionals and Services.
As Hoedspruit has grown, so has the number of doctors and other medical professionals. Two very useful lists to print out and keep are from the Wild about Hoedspruit site.

Hoedspruit Private Hospital.
I am so happy to announce that Hoedspruit is finally getting its own hospital. It will include 28 adult beds, including an emergency unit. 4 beds for ICU and 8 Paediatric beds. There will be 10 beds allocated just for day admissions and 4 operating theatres.

There are 4 major banks in town: FNB, Standard, ABSA and Capitec.

Supermarkets and other Stores.
Pick ‘n Pay and Spar are the main ones. Le Bamba is the biggest fresh produce store, often carrying fruit and vegetables from the local farmers. They also now supply a number of lodges in the area and will go out of their way to order specialised items. Other stores include Jet, Mr Price, Sheet Street, Pep and Crazy Store. There are a number of smaller boutique stores. Each one is so different and is worth exploring. Godding and Godding supply silk products and a range of naturally based cosmetics. The Supermarkets keep the town supplied with fresh flowers. Jo’burg on Line is a specialised distributor to the surrounding lodges as well as discerning home owners. They will happily source any items they may not have in store. Looking to furnish your new home? This is also possible to do in Hoedspruit.

Transfers and Car Hire.
Transfers are available between Johannesburg and various destinations in and around Hoedspruit. These include Eastgate Airport and the lodges.
There is a choice of Car Hire companies available.

Eating out.
Eating out is something that we all enjoy doing. Hoedspruit offers a large variety of restaurants, each with their own special charm.

Check out the page for some ideas of what else this amazing area offers.

Kruger National Park.
Most importantly is Hoedspruit’s proximity to the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park. The drive takes about 40 minutes and makes for an ideal day out for the whole family.

Safety and Securty.
We have two incredible voluntary organisations that help to maintain Hoedspruit as the safe town that it is. Hoedspruit Farm Watch and Hoedspruit Town Watch. I personally cannot say enough about these dedicated people who are on call 24/7 and who also patrol our town in the evenings.
